A workshop for yoga teachers
Explore the art of hands-on assisting. As yoga teachers, our verbal cues are one of our most important tools to communicate during our classes. And sometimes, let's face it, our verbal cues need more explanation. Insert hands-on assisting: a manual cue to support your students.
Hands-on assists are one of many tools in our yoga teaching toolbox. When executed with purpose and clarity, our hands-on assists can help transform and educate a range of students from beginners to advanced practitioners. Come sharpen this tool in a fun, informative, and interactive workshop while connecting, learning, and networking with your fellow local yoga teachers.
In this 3-hour workshop we'll cover:
- Assisting techniques and practices that apply to a range of asanas
- Assists for standing poses, seated poses, backbends, and inversions using just your hands and using props
- Anatomy and functional movement of the body to understand the purpose of each hands-on assist
- Ethics and mindful considerations for safe and effective hands-on assists.
